The laid back little sister to Covent Garden fave, Terroirs, takes the sophisticated wine bar and does it Shoreditch style. Paired back, stripped down and artfully homely, this chilled out resto attracts a steady stream of locals and hipsters. It does tend to live up to its name – a deconstructed pig’s head in cold cut form – but don’t be put off by the offal on the menu, in fact, try it! The less adventurous will still find plenty of joy in the hearty, farmhouse style French fare, including an extensive charcuterie selection and a never-ending bread basket of delicious EC5 bread. Tuck into that baby, ‘cos they’ll keep bringing you more. Wash the whole thing down with some of the top tipple on the extensive wine list, most of it organically or bio-dynamically grown. Watch out for the tricksy opening hours and best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
