American | Marylebone | Dirt cheap

Burgers and booze serve as the bulwarks at this dive-bar-cum-diner in the no-man’s land between Oxford Street and Marylebone. Try the lip-smackingly, gut-bustingly good classic chili cheeseburger for maverick burger man Yiannis Papoutsis’ signature creation, or brave souls with big bellies can double down with the Dead Hippy. Expect loud music, dark and moody lighting and crazy, punky wall murals – not a place for a sedate meal. Good for hard drinkers, heavy eaters and late night munchies, with food served ’til 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Disastrous for veggies. Prime-time diners beware, the queues haven’t got any shorter since the days Yiannis was serving burgers from the back of a van in Peckham.
